Philosophy
Philosophy is the pursuit of the fundamental truths of the world we live in, ourselves, and our relationship to those around us.
Perhaps my own curiosity of the world has led me down an endless path of exploration or it’s my fascination with attainment of practical wisdom. As I grow older, I realize that philosophy is a tool to strengthen ourselves against the unknowns of life.
No matter the stage in life we are at, certain eventualities of life will happen. Whether that’s death, heartbreak, illness, trauma, or transition, philosophy can provide support, solace, or refuge during our toughest times as well as temperance and grace in the best of times.
Philosophers seemingly sum up wisdom in a neat and pithy quote.
Marcus Aurelius said, “It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.”
Confucius said, “Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.”
Friedrich Nietzsche said, “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.”
Some of these sayings make sense, white others require deeper reflection. Philosophy has something for everyone.
Here are my articles on philosophy:
